To guard against these risks, we partner with VCs and PE groups nationwide to help them protect their interests in target companies by insuring key people in portfolio companies.
One way we do this is with key person insurance – that’s when a portfolio business buys life insurance (whole, term, or universal) on their key executives. The business owns the policy, pays the premiums, and is the listed beneficiary in case the policy is triggered. That way, the VC or private equity group’s investment is better protected.
